Things You Should Know Before Choosing A Scalp Micropigmentation Clinic
Updated: Jul 19, 2019
Scalp Micropigmentation is a process that conceals hair loss by creating the appearance of a buzz cut look with hair shade specific pigments.
A hair tattoo, when done by a highly skilled technician can produce truly undetectable results. We often get told from clients that their friends and family think their hair is growing back!
However when Scalp Micropigmentation is performed by someone without the proper training, technique, and equipment it can be very easy to spot. Unnatural hairlines, large dots, discoloured (blue) ink are some of the dead giveaways.
Consider these factors when looking for a SMP provider:
1) Does the clinic have lots of before and after pictures?
Do your research, scroll through the companies instagram, facebook, and web-site. Usually clinics will post before and after pictures from session 1 through to 3/4.
Its also worth checking to see if the clinic post close up videos after the treatments. Don't book unless you can see the fine details of their work!
2) Is the clinic clean?
This is the most important factor. Make sure the technician has all their equipment wrapped and isolated in barrier film. The clinic should also have a sharps container, and use fresh needle cartridges with every new client.
Book a consultation and look for the signs that they're on top of all of this
3) Is the technician experienced?
Ask plenty of questions to see if they have a wide knowledge of the procedure. If you have any doubts leave no stone unturned. Having a hair tattoo is a huge step and so many things can go wrong if the technician doesn't have the correct skillset
4) Do they have lots of positive reviews?
Read through the reviews sections on their web site, google profile, and facebook page. Also look for video testimonials, text reviews can be easily faked. Ask the clinic if you can arrange to see some of their work in the flesh. Some of our previous clients are more than happy to do this!
