You should try to avoid any physical effort which might make you sweat. Don’t wash your head or get water on it.
Don't touch your scalp for the first few hours, after that you can wear a hat.
If your head is itchy, gently pat it.
No saunas, swimming pools, sun exposure, sweating (the dots are very easy to sweat out/fade during the healing process) If you don’t follow the aftercare instructions it may cost you more money for further treatments! Take care and you’ll get good results.
You can consider shaving your head at this point. Use an electric foil shaver or hair clipper as these are less likely to disturb your pigments. However, keep them away from scabs that are still present on your head and don’t try to peel them away.
Now is also a good time to get some water on your head. A light shower will do the trick, but avoid shampoo.
Now start to moisturise the full treatment area 1-2 times a day to prepare the skin for the follow up session. We recommend Headlube Matte Moisturiser by Headblade if you also want an anti shine effect on the scalp. Palmers Cocoa Butter, or Bulldog Original are good options too. Avoid products with chemicals/high levels of alcohol, these can fade the ink. Tattooing on flaky skin isn’t ideal and can affect the final results, so make sure you have your skin in the best possible condition for return treatments. Now you can perform activities from which you sweat lightly, such as lifting weights at a low pace but avoid tough cardio sessions.
Day 7 onwards
At this point, you can resume your showering sessions and get back to your usual schedule. There won’t be any issues with the water or with the shampoo when you wash your scalp.
This is the time when you might consider using a razor blade to shave your head. However, avoid using it if there are still healing scabs on the skin.
If you’re itching to get back to the gym, you can now get back to your usual routine and sweat as much as you’d like.
Day 30 onwards (after all sessions are complete)
Fake tan, saunas and swimming pools are fine from here on.
If you live in a warm, sunny climate, take adequate precautions. Such as a hat quality non-greasy sunscreen.
After 30 days you can resume all your usual activities.
For those who don't want to go for the razor shave look we recommend the Andis T Outliner hair clippers for the closest trim (0.2mm), or any 0.4mm trimmers for a bit more length.
